Cajun BBQ Sauce by David Triche

Cajun BBQ Sauce - Contributed by David Triche  




2 cups ketchup

1/4 cup tomato paste

1/3 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons liquid smoke

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup Dat sauce (hot sauce)

1/2 cup molasses

1/2 stick unsalted butter

1/2 onion, minced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Beazell's Cajun Seasoning

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Cornstarch, to thicken



In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the butter, onion and garlic. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until onion is translucent. Mix in the remaining ingredients.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 20 minutes. Thicken with cornstarch if necessary.
