Smoked Sausage & Rice

Smoked Sausage & Rice  




1 tablespoon olive oil

3/4 pound smoked sausage, sliced

1 cup seasoning blend (onion bell, pepper, & celery)

1/2 tablespoon Beazell's Cajun Seasoning

1 packet Swanson's Beef Flavor Booster

1 1/2 cups rice, uncooked

3 cups chicken broth



In a Dutch oven, heat olive oil. Brown sausage and seasoning blend for about 5 minutes on medium-high. Add the Beazell's Cajun Seasoning, Beef Flavor Booster, rice and chicken broth. Stir well, cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes. Stir it, cover again and cook additional 4-5 minutes. If rice is too moist, cover and continue to cook until moisture is cooked out, approximately 3 – 5 minutes.  If rice still has a crunch to it, add about 3 tablespoons of water, cover and continue to cook until rice is fully cooked, approximately 3 – 5 minutes.  Remove from heat.
