Chinese Spareribs

5 pounds pork spareribs or country style ribs

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon honey

1/4 cup hoisin sauce

3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced

3 tablespoons sweet rice, wine

3/4 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder

1 teaspoon Beazell's Cajun Seasoning

Cooking spray

To make the marinade place the soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, garlic, sweet rice wine, five-spice powder and Beazell's Cajun Seasoning in a small bowl and whisk to blend.

Pour half of the marinade into a large bowl. Place half the ribs in the bowl and turn to coat. Place the remaining ribs in the bowl and pour the remaining marinade over all, turning both slabs of ribs to distribute marinade evenly. Cover and allow them to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Spread the ribs on a wire rack that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Place wire rack in a roasting pan and place in oven. Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Baste 2 – 3 times with marinade during the cooking process. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F and cook until tender, 40 – 50 minutes.
